A Sonnet for Amy -
In Memory of a Beautiful Person

So beautiful and talented was she.
God gave her many gifts to bring to Earth
That glorious voice of transcendental worth
Her music that brought joy to you and me.
And yet, she always kept the common touch.
No prima-donna airs did she admire
Content to be a member of the choir
To worship in the church she loved so much.
Now we, who cared so deeply, are bereft
But proud that we have know this special soul.
Her singing blessed our lives and made us whole;
Fond memories are all that we have left.
So Goodbye Amy – take your final bow
We leave you singing with the angels now.
